Fleece — Gray Romney, Long Locks with Natural Variation
This fleece wanted movement.
The long gray Romney locks carried strong shifts of dark and light, and I let those changes guide the direction of the piece.
The locks are long and expressive, with a striking range of tones that move across the surface. That contrast shaped the form, creating a subtle diagonal rhythm that travels across the body and into the flap—her idea, not mine.
The fiber holds its structure with strong lock definition and natural crimp, giving the surface a richly tactile quality.
She is expressive by nature—changing, rhythmic, and in constant motion.
Lining
I hand-dyed the lining in golden ochre, allowing the color to come forward in a way that feels confident and distinct.
It doesn’t sit quietly—it announces itself the moment the piece is opened, bringing a warmth that feels bold, direct, and entirely her own.
Strap — Cork
The strap is made from cork, harvested from the bark of a tree.
I’m drawn to working with natural materials, and cork has become a constant in my work—lightweight, durable, and expressive in its own way. There’s a dialogue between materials here—the softness of the wool and the structure that holds it, each expressing something different.
Hardware — Brass
She is finished with chunky brass hardware, chosen for the contrast it brings to the softness of the wool.
It brings a sense of structure to the piece, allowing the materials around it to speak more freely.

The wool will shift in form, and the brass may develop a natural patina over time — each change part of its evolution.
CLEANING
Clean gently with water. Allow to air dry fully. Reshape by hand as needed.
As the wool settles, lift and separate the fibers to restore their natural form.
STORAGE
Store your piece upright in its dust bag, with the bolster inside to help maintain its shape.

Each piece is prepared and presented with care.
It arrives wrapped in soft tissue, accompanied by a numbered and artist-signed bolster, a certificate of authenticity, and a personal artist note reflecting the character of the piece.
