Fleece — Gray Romney
In this piece, I was drawn to the transformation that happened as the fleece was washed.
When I first laid it out, it read as brown, but as the lanolin and earth lifted away, a range of grays began to emerge, revealing something entirely different underneath.
The locks are thick and clearly defined, with strong tips that don’t fully settle into place. There’s natural variation throughout, with some areas more open and others more dense, creating a surface that feels a bit untamed.
It doesn’t read as uniform. The eye moves across it, finding shifts in tone and texture that give the piece its sense of energy and life.
Lining
I hand-dyed the lining in tones of yellow and orange, with veins of red running through the cloth.
I wanted the interior to feel alive—something you discover rather than expect. The color moves freely, bringing a vivid energy that contrasts with the natural variation of the fleece.
Each time the piece is opened, that color reveals itself in a way that feels bold and slightly untamed.
Strap — Cork
The strap is made from cork, harvested from the bark of a tree.
I’m drawn to working with natural materials, and cork has become a constant in my work—lightweight, durable, and expressive in its own way. It grounds her—but never tries to tame what she is.
Hardware — Brass
She is finished with solid brass hardware, chosen for the sense of structure it brings—holding the piece together without quieting its natural energy.

Clean gently with water. Allow to air dry fully. Reshape by hand as needed.
As the wool settles, lift and separate the fibers to restore their natural form.

Store your piece upright in its dust bag, with the bolster inside to help maintain its shape.

It arrives wrapped in soft tissue, accompanied by a numbered and artist-signed bolster, a certificate of authenticity, and a personal artist note reflecting the character of the piece.
